Senior Moment

This is my place for ranting and raving about things that make me mad or issues I feel need some exposure. For a while, I will focus on Senior issues--as in Senior Moments. In older issues, I talked about our rascally politicians and other rip-offs. Sometimes I talk about environmental issues that threaten our very survival and the scientific achievements that could turn it around. I do not accept that discretion is a better part of valor and I do not suffer fools lightly. Sometimes though, I talk about people I admire and other warm-fuzzy stuff.

20c (the audio) is on-line. It's a Podcast-Tutorial Combo. In this first issue, I walk listeners
through the process of grabbing a screen shot (bmp) and, using the WebsiteTriad concept to convert to
a jpg and insert an image into a webpage (blog, etc.).

20c will be my prototype issue for an innovative idea generally referred to as
Podcast/Tutorial Combo. In this issue, I will show you how to convert a screen shot
BMP file into a JPG file that can easily be added to your webpages.

This may be my last well-documented political rant. I discuss the abuse of a world banking system that grew from the Federal Reserve Act and is now moving toward world globalization. I also talk about immigration and global warming.

I have a growing sense of anger at a bureaucracy that ignores people in trouble, and the rip-off artists that rob them of their last few dollars. I offered a 1950s example that is a classic example of the current rip-off scams. I offer a link that lists the current internet scams offering the opportunity to have your intelligence insulted multiple times all from one website.

SeniorMoment#17

I ask for referrals for a unique program limited to worthy individuals. I was thinking primarily about struggling seniors and single moms. I outline a program that will provide the digital equivalent of a $20,000 brick and mortar store for less than $200 for an entire year. This $200 cost is for a dial-up ISP and a Web Host. For those without a computer, one can be donated. The operating system needs to be Linux with open-source software. Of course my tech support is donated. I also discussed this program in the two previous podcasts.

SeniorMoment #16

I discuss the manner in which senior citizens have an advantage for predicting future events, but they must pay attention to patterns. I briefly mention unintended consequences, extrapolation, and Gestaltism. I discuss two Honolulu murder cases that could have been prevented if some predictive judgment had been in place. In this issue, I'm critical of the mental health care system.

I went on the negative by talking about the misadventures of the Iraq war. I quoted from a 2004 blog post.

Why does one generation hate the music of another generation? If we found people with no exposure to music, which brand would they prefer? Classical, Rap, Ballads?
