| Think of
one word that describes the power of an e-commerce business. What would
that word be? . Now think of one word that describes the structure of an e-commerce business. The basic foundation of a brick & mortar business is found in the word location, so wouldn't it be the same for an e-commerce business? . Hint: A mom & pop store needs to be a short walk from the customers it serves. An e-commerce business has no geographical limitations. The digital strip mall will have businesses located in Hong Kong next door to businesses located in Pittsburgh. In some cases, parts of the same business could be separated by thousands of miles. So for e-commerce, the concept of location is nearly meaningless. This leads to some major differences between a brick & mortar and an e-commerce business. . I could tell you the two words I have in mind, but it will be more interesting if this mini-tutorial does that for me...as you progress box by box.
