Blog Hypnotism

I became involved in clinical hypnotism in the early 1960s. I have experience in everything from stage hypnosis to its use for surgical anesthesia. I developed a unique approach using the allegory as a suggestion form, and testing procedures to facilitate the hypnosis state. I've written one text book, perfected an involved method for using self-hypnosis, and authored numerous e-books and articles. I discuss all of this in my podcasts.

Podcast #15

This is the forth and final of the series (12ha, 13hb, 14hc) in which I record parts of a 2000 program titled Structures of Hypnotism II. It's double the length of the previous three 22 minute shows. This is the final course of this type from my hypnotherapy career, and I feel it has value for a therapist that lacks clinical training.

Podcast #14

This is the third in a series in which I record parts of a 2000 program titled Structures of Hypnotism II. This is likely the final course from my hypnotherapy career. It offers the clinician some inside information from the point of view of a veteran psychotherapist. In number 15HD, I will continue recording from the same program using this contiguous number and lettering system, i.e., the show after that will be number16HE, and the one after that will be 17HF. All shows will be archived at Podcast WDS DotCom.

Podcast #13

This is the second in a series in which I record parts of a 2000 program titled Structures of Hypnotism II. This was part of the last course in hypnotherapy I offered in the year 2000. I think it offers a new hypnotherapist some important information. In number 14HC, I will continue recording from this cassette tape and maintain the same number and letter system (number 15HD etcetera) until I have completed the program.

This is the first of a series in which I record parts of a 2000 program titled Structures of Hypnotism II. This was part of a course with topics for a beginning hypnotherapist. In number 13HB, I will continue recording from this cassette tape and maintain that same number and letter system (number 14HC etc.) until I have reproduced much of the program.

Podcast #11

I ramble a bit on the evolution of science from the control of fire to agriculture and cave art dream rendering. The motivation behind cave art tells us a lot about the Freudian view of hypnotism. I discuss the importance of archiving and, with that in mind, I list a brief outline of each of the ten previous hypnotism shows. This outline will end up at Podcast WDS DotCom.

Podcast #4

Recorded 9-18-05 I began discussing insights by observing body language but wandered into procedures from my therapy sessions. That left me time for only a brief mention of Chapter 11 from Structures of Hypnotism. The article was titled: A Triad Analysis of a Word-For-Word Induction.

This is the looooongest podcast I've done so far! ...it's 50 minutes, for heavensakes! The focus is on self-hypnosis with oblique references to meditation and stage hypnosis shows. If you're interested in those things, you might like it... if not, there may be side effects. :)

Podcast #3

In this Sept. 13 show I started with a favorite topic: Inductive vs Deductive thinking. I related a woodsy experience showing the risk of bias. I then read from my eBook, Charisma & Power -- a chapter discussing eye-position reading. I finished up discussing a bit more about the testing process using eye positioning.

#1 Premier Podcast

#1 July 5, 2005. In this premier edition, I use some ancient bumper music -- it's appropriately called "Hypnosis", with the closing bumper from the same antique album. I offer a little bit of my history as a hypnotist (and psychotherapist). And some insights for some of the techniques I used -- once, a closely guarded secret.
